LOUTSES
VARATHRO TRISTOMO LOUTSON
The Varathro Tristomo Loutson is located on the top of the mountain of Loutses close to Megali Grava cave where the rock formations are shaped like needles. Varathron means "what devours what falls in".
The varathro receives its name due the three openings on its roof. The cave is 7 metres deep, 8 metres long and 7 metres wide. Descending is only possible by rope. The cave has some decorations.
Study of the cave:
The cave was studied and mapped in 1996 / 1997 during the research by Professor Dr. G.E. Theodorou.
